Course Description:
Students in Art III will receive advanced technical instruction and will be given projects that require individual creativity and self-motivation. Students will be expected to produce work that communicates ideas and intentions and will be expected to participate in class critiques. Students will use Art History as well as the Elements and Principles to inform and evaluate their work.

You may also call the school and leave a message for me and I will return the call during my planning period or after school. I am also happy to meet with parents during my planning period and before or after school. Please contact me by email if you ever need to set up a conference.

Behavior:
-no food or drink in the art room
-Standards from Student Code of Conduct and Attendance apply to art room as well
-Students should be in their assigned seat and ready to work when the bell rings. You are tardy if you enter the room after the bell.
-The teacher will dismiss class (not the bell) all students must be seated and clean up must be complete before students can be dismissed.
- Please use the restroom between classes
- Students cannot leave class without permission
2- Student will be asked to work alone and discuss issue with teacher
3- Contact with parent
4- Referral to principal
5- In school detention
All class II offenses will be referred immediately to the office without step procedures (see Code of Conduct manual for list of offenses)

- Pencil (not mechanical), eraser, sketchbook
- Students are required to pay a $40 fee (possibly not for 2020-21 school year)
- The art fee will cover all other supplies needed for the duration of this course.
- General- Projects will be graded based on how well the project meets the objectives of the lesson and the amount of effort that is applied. Effort and technique will be graded on an individual basis due to the fact that students have varying degrees of technical ability and exposure to the arts. Students will be made aware of the grading criteria for each project when it is given and rubrics will be posted for the duration of each project.

Self-Evaluations
- Late work – students can turn in art work late due to excused absences for no penalty. Due dates will be extended one day for each day the student was absent. If the absence is not excused, points will be deducted for every day that the project is late. If a student misses class it is their responsibility to talk to the teacher or another student to determine what work was missed.
