Overview
For this assignment you will be using the rules of 2 point perspective to create an original composition of Lego blocks. I've included slide and videos demonstrating how to use two point perspective as well as videos on how to finish your drawing in color. As always, make sure that you are considering your composition.
Materials
drawing paper, pencil, eraser, ruler or straight edge, watercolor, colored pencil
Watch the following videos for how to use two point perspective when drawing individual blocks and stacks. You do not need to watch the coloring and shading portions of these videos. You will finish your Lego blocks by adding base colors in marker or watercolor and finishing in colored pencil.

Review the high points of these videos by clicking through the gallery below.
These videos are great for seeing the process but the marker video has a lot of helpful hints and audio as well. The pepper video addresses burnishing and layering specifically which is really beneficial. Make sure you are watching these with sound. It may be helpful to speed these videos up. Feel free to do so.

Instructions
Sketch- Use copy paper, pencil and your ruler or straight edge and your 2 point perspective technique to draw a stack of legos. This should not be a copy of the stack in the video. It should be a practice version of what you plan to draw on your actual project. Leave all of your guiding lines and vanishing points visible so that I can check your work and make sure that you are on the right track. You do not need to add color.
Draw- Once you have submitted your sketch, you can move on to lightly drawing your final stack of legos on drawing paper. Make sure that you fill the page in an interesting way and that your blocks are adhering to those two point perspective rules. This will give the illusion of space and depth to your drawing. Erase all of your guiding lines, leaving only the completed blocks and submit your drawing without color for an in progress check. It will be next to impossible to adjust any mistakes once you have added color.
Finish- complete your drawing by adding down base hues in either marker or watercolor and after that dries you will add shadows, mid-tones and highlights with colored pencil. Submit your drawing with a completed rubric for a grade.
